A message from Sensei Adrian ''With the Olympics in full swing, we have welcomed some new faces . Seeing our sport proudly represented on TV worldwide makes us proud to bring Judo in to our local community and spread the awareness of the sport. We hope you had the opportunity to watch this on TV with your Judokas and this inspired them to continue their efforts''

Paris Olympics 2024
Olympic bronze medalist Chelsie Giles (Coventry Judo Club) and Lucy Renshall (SKK; Pete Blood) both return to Team GB for their second Games, after they competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Giles’ bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 secured the first of Team GB’s 64 medals at those Games, and the 27-year-old from Coventry has since become European Champion and earned a silver medal at the 2022 World Championship.
Renshall will also be making her second Games appearance in Paris. The 28-year-old from St Helens is a four-time British Champion, a European Championship bronze medallist, a former world number one and six-time Grand Slam Champion.
A month on from clinching her World Championship bronze medal, Emma Reid (Redbridge Judo Club; Steve Sandy), who is the reigning Commonwealth Champion is selected for her first Games appearance.
She will be joined by fellow Games debutants Katie-Jemima Yeats-Brown (Ryecroft Judo Club; Ian Oliver) from Kent, a double Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, and British Champion Lele Nairne (Bradley Stoke Judo Club) from Weston-super-Mare.
Unfortunately, our GB team didn't place any medals but seeing the five women competing at what many would consider to be the highest stage possible within the sport and being a part of an elite team is an achievement that needs celebrating. Well done Team GB!
Summer Training Camp
We had a big group join us for our three-day summer camp this month and had the most amazing time. Between our team building exercises and challenges, each one of our Judokas worked incredibly hard. We all had a fantastic time and look forward to the next one!
Newaza Masterclass with Steve Gawthorpe
It was great welcoming Steve in to our club and having him present his Newaza Masterclass to our Judokas. Having his 7th Dan and being World Bronze Medalist in Seoul 1985, among many other important high ranked medals, it was a pleasure having Steve at the club.

Merchandise
As we unite on the mat, our strength lies not just in our individual skills, but in our sense of camaraderie and unity as a team. We have been working hard behind the scenes to design and make club merchandise, this will include merchandise aimed at Judokas who attend our weekly training sessions, but we are also in the middle of designing our squad team merchandise that are aimed exclusively towards Judokas who compete.
